You know how there’s one thing that makes your day better? I fell in love with desserts even before I was born (or that is what I like to believe). The childhood memories I have about entering the kitchen flash a little girl with an apron longer that her height. I know for a fact that I have always had a sweet tooth and that is what, in one way, forced me to start baking. My journey as a home-cook began when I would help my mother by cutting the vegetables, laying the table and whisking the batter for cakes. Things slowly changed and I felt the need to have control over  the kitchen. I realized I wanted to be a chef when I was in middle-school. For the entire twenty years of my life, the only cooking I have done has been in my own kitchen, and I’m excited to finally work in a thousand more!

The reason I want to become a chef is because I have never felt as passionately about something, as I feel for the culinary arts and food. Growing up, I have always heard people complain about their jobs and talk poorly about their work. I know that the food industry is probably one of the hardest industries to survive in, especially because of the growing competition. But I also know that it is one area of life that can never be eradicated. Food is life. The fact that I love to play around with ingredients and create new recipes is one of the reasons why I want to own my own restaurant and be known for a signature dish. A chef’s life is like a roller-coaster ride, full of ups and downs. I look forward to hopping on and making the most of it!
